Many states have some form or variation of the following for Felony offenses: a.) 3 Strikes, you’re out meaning that 3 felony convictions (strikes) for the same crime and you are locked up forever. b.) Mandatory minimum sentencing such as “all persons with cocaine on their person receive mandatory 5 years in prison, regardless of the circumstances.”

The laws in the United States are often different for different kinds of crimes and the punishments for a crime can be different from one state to another. The issue that I have notices is discrimination of the criminal justice system of the United States towards a particular class. The laws are almost similar in the states of the United States, still some of the offenders receive less punishment ad some receive the highest based on individual circumstances.
